molten wonky Three Hour Workshop

Katie loves running glass fusing workshops and is keen to get everyone's creative juices flowing. She wants you all to enjoy experimenting with colourful glass and to make your very own products and decorations that you can use and enjoy at home.   

She often hears people saying “I'm not creative” or “I'm no good at making things” and she will tell you that's a load of twaddle. Katie believes EVERYONE is capable of creating and making something beautiful from glass that they are pleased and proud of. 

So, what happens in the Three Hour Glass Fusing Workshop? 

On arrival to the studio you will be given a cup of tea and a quick tour around the studio and have a look at Katie's creations in the wonky shop.

Katie will explain the different types of glass that can be used to make your own creations.  

You will be shown and taught how to cut glass and then to use this new skill to help create your very own wonky products!

Each person will be given a clear glass templates of the chosen piece they would like make.  

Choose one of the following items to make:

Four Coasters

Four Decorations

Set of Bunting

20cm x 20cm Picture

20cm Round Mandala Picture

15cm x 25cm Picture

You will draw round this template and sketch a simple design on to paper. The clear glass template is then laid over the sketch and the design is filled in with glass.

Katie will explain the different types of glass that can be used and show you some samples so you can see the finished results. These will include sheets of coloured glass, frits, stringers, confetti and fragments. There is a whole spectrum of colours and textures to suit all styles and taste. 

Katie will be with you the whole time, guiding and encoraging you with your work.  

You don't have to decide what to make before you come along, but it can help if you have a bit of a look for a few ideas on Pinterest.

Once you have completed your work it will be fired, finished and individually packed in a molten wonky box. It will be ready for you to collect the following week or can be posted back to you for £5.

Price includes all tuition, materials, firing and tea/coffee and biscuits. There is a loo on site too! 

The Three Hour Workshop is suitable for ages 16 and above.
