everything you need to know about our wonkylands
29 April 2025

We’ve spent a lot of time shouting about our incredible fused glass kits, premade fused glass decorations, and glass fusing workshops, but what if we told you that we have another product category on offer for you creative souls?
Our bespoke fused glass creations — wonkylands.
Please note: Wonkylands with glass stems cannot be posted as they are too fragile, so they will need to be collected from our Essex glass fusing studio. However, we can post wonkylands with wire stems instead — so all is not lost!
a wonkyland… what is that!?

Without being too vague, your wonkyland can essentially be whatever you want it to be! Customers tend to choose from the following fused glass commissions:
Our wonkylands are custom fused glass pieces — a great way for you to commission your own fused glass creation.
how to commission your wonkyland

If unique glass art is just what you’re looking for, either as a piece of dopamine decor or as a gift for a loved one, here’s everything you need to know about the process.
step one: choose your wonkyland
Are you looking for a subtly personal fused glass decoration or a fused glass recreation of your own or your loved one’s drawings? Both sound perfect.
Our wonkyland blooms are full of colour, sparkle, and quirkiness, and they’re completely handmade. Bespoke for each client, you can choose everything from how many blooms feature in your wonkyland to the finish of the base.
If you’d like to turn artwork into a wonkyland, you have a few different options. Supply Katie with a colourful drawing, and she can turn your piece of art into…
- A fused glass family: Individual figures (including pets!) re-created in glass, standing strong on a wood base. It can be set in a garden with trees, or almost anywhere your imagination can take you. Katie will do everything she can to turn your vision into glass art.
- A fused glass figure in a picture frame: A recreation of a sketch turned into a framed fused glass figure.
- A fused glass hanging decoration: Turn a colourful sketch into a hanging fused glass decoration. The crazier the better — and don’t forget to add a bit of colour!
step two: contact katie
Wonkylands are so special that they’re not something you can buy in one click on the website! As they are so bespoke, you’ll need to get in touch with Katie as every piece is made to order.
She can either work to your budget or send you a tailored quote for the piece. Most wonkylands start at £70.
You can either call Katie on 07974 112 535 or email her at katie.lynn@moltenwonky.co.uk to get the ball rolling. She’ll ask you about which type of wonkyland you’d like commissioned, and any initial colour ideas.
If you’re not sure what colours or design you’d like, she’ll ask you to think about the following…
step three: pick your customisations

You are the creative mind behind your wonkyland — Katie is just there to make it a reality!
For your wonkyland bloom, you can:
- Choose your flowers: Round, square, oval, rectangle, cup, moon, star, sunflower, tear drop…
- Choose your colours: Pink, orange, red, green, turquoise, purple, yellow, dark blue, lime green…
- Choose your stems: Green glass, wire, mixed wire and glass…
- Choose your additions: Curly wire, shimmery dichroic, millefiore…
- Choose your base: Oak, white-washed, round…
- Choose your finish: Green sprinkles, no sprinkles, white sprinkles, with personalised writing…
If you’re choosing for a piece of artwork to be turned into a wonkyland, Katie can pretty much work to your vision! From colours and shapes to finishes, you’ll end up with a wonkyland that is truly bespoke.
step four: wait patiently for katie to work her magic
Using your selected customisations, Katie will sketch out your design and send you a picture to confirm you’re happy with how your wonkyland looks. Once confirmed, she’ll start working away on your wonkyland!
step five: get a sneak peek
Once Katie has almost finished, she’ll send you a picture of your wonkyland to confirm you’re happy with the layout before securing it onto a wooden base with your choice of finish.
step six: give your wonkyland a home
You’ll send payment via BACS or PayPal to Katie, and then you can either collect your wonkyland from our glass fusing studio or get it delivered straight to your doorstep (as long as there are no green glass stems featured).

Katie loves pottering around in her garden, but one thing she loves even more is the sight of colourful blooms bobbing around in the flower bed. This is where wonkylands started — as a way to create something that will last forever, and be enjoyed all year round.
